Der Waimea River oder Waimea Stream ist ein Fluss in der Southland im Süden der Südinsel Neuseelands. Er ist ein Zufluss des Mataura River. Die von dem Fluss gebildete Ebene Waimea Plains ist Teil der Southland Plains.

Er entspringt südöstlich von Lumsden und mündet zwischen Mandeville und Otamita in den Mataura. Die Waimea River Road folgt dem Mittel- und Unterlauf des Flusses.[1]

Der Fluss ist wie der Mataura River und seine anderen Nebenflüsse ein bekanntes Gewässer zum Forellenangeln.[2]
