Watchblog

Ein Watchblog (engl. to watch: „aufpassen, beobachten“) ist eine Sonderform des Weblogs, das Personen, Unternehmen oder Medien beobachtet und als Hauptinhalt hat. Autoren von Watchblogs folgen dabei nicht unbedingt der journalistischen Berufsethik, sondern Vorgehens- und Verhaltensweisen der Blogosphäre.[1]

Eines der prominentesten deutschsprachigen Watchblogs ist Bildblog, das ursprünglich die Boulevardzeitung Bild mitsamt ihren Schwesterpublikationen und Websites beobachtete und seit April 2009 auch andere Publikationen beobachtet.
