XML-Dump

Während "XML" ein Dateiformat bezeichnet, handelt es sich bei einem XML-Dump um eine Datei, die Information im XML-Format enthält.

Eine XML-Dump-Datei wird dazu genutzt, um per Auszug Daten zwischen verschiedenen Systemen/Datenbanken auszutauschen. Dazu werden die Daten eines Systemes/Datenbank in das neutrale Format (XML) exportiert. Diese Exportdatei kann anschließend in ein anderes System importiert werden. Durch diesen Vorgang können die Daten im Zielsystem weiterverwendet werden.
