Black Box Recorder

Black Box Recorder war ein englisches Indie-/Elektropop-Trio, das 1998 von den Songwritern Luke Haines und John Moore sowie Sängerin Sarah Nixey gegründet wurde. Das Arrangement ihrer Pop-Melodien war größtenteils geprägt durch die zu dieser Zeit speziell in Großbritannien populären Musikrichtungen Trip Hop und Ambient.

Die Band wurde 2004 vorübergehend auf Eis gelegt, nachdem John Moore und Sarah Nixey im selben Jahr geheiratet hatten. Entgegen anders lautender Gerüchte in der Pop-Journaille sind sie bis zum heutigen Tag verheiratet.

2007 arbeitete die Band mit Art Brut unter dem Projektnamen The Black Arts zusammen und veröffentlichte eine Weihnachtssingle mit dem Titel "Christman Number One". 2009 kehrt die Band dann mit mehreren Konzerten in London auf die Bühne zurück. Zugleich wurde bekanntgegeben, dass ein weiteres Album der Band zu erwarten sei.
