Black Rebels (Schwarze Rebellen) ist der Name einer Reggaeband aus Neuengland (USA), die seit über 20 Jahren besteht.

Texte

Mit ihren Texten und ihrer Musik wollen sie den Leuten das friedliche Zusammenleben zwischen verschieden Nationen und Religion nahebringen. Sie weisen immer wieder auf ihre afrikanischen Wurzeln hin, die nach Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit streben, was auch durch den Namen deutlich wird.

Erfolge

Die Band ist bisher sehr unbekannt und nur wenigen Insidern der Reggaeszene ein Begriff. Sie treten eher auf kleineren Festivals/Bühnen, vor allem in den USA, auf.

Mitglieder

Die Band besteht insgesamt aus sechs Mitgliedern, wovon drei weiblich und drei männlich sind. Die Bandmitglieder heißen Kalpana (Gesang), Manou (Gesang, Rhythmus, Gitarre), Kete (Gesang), Imani (Schlagzeug, Djembe), Wes (Bass, Background) und Jonathan (Gitarre).
