Brooke Foss Westcott

Brooke Foss Westcott (* 12. Januar 1825 in Birmingham; † 27. Juli 1901 in Auckland Castle, Durham) war ein britischer Theologe und seit 1890 anglikanischer Bischof von Durham.

Am 1. November 1870 wurde er auf dem Lehrstuhl der Regius Professorship of Divinity an der Cambridge University gewählt. Diesen Lehrstuhl hatte er bis 1890 inne, als er Bischof von Durham wurde.

1881 gab er gemeinsam mit Fenton John Anthony Hort The New Testament in the Original Greek heraus (siehe auch: Textus receptus).

Westcott gehörte den Cambridge Apostles an.
