Linor Abargil (* 17. Februar 1980) ist ein israelisches Model und die Miss World 1998.

Biographie

Abargil wurde wenige Wochen vor ihrer Kür zur Miss World Opfer eines Gewaltverbrechens. Seitdem engagiert sie sich öffentlich im Kampf gegen Sexualdelikte.[1] Ein Film zur Aufarbeitung dieses Ereignisses war gemeinsam mit Cecilia Peck, der Tochter von Gregory Peck, geplant.[2]

Die Wahl zur Miss World fand im November 1998 auf den Seychellen statt. Linor Abargil trat damit die Nachfolge von Diana Hayden an. Sie war zwischen 2006 und 2008 mit dem litauischen Basketballspieler Šarūnas Jasikevičius verheiratet. Die Ehe blieb kinderlos.
