CB Rail

CB Rail ist eine Leasinggesellschaft für Schienenfahrzeuge. Das Unternehmen ist eine Tochtergesellschaft der Investmentgesellschaft Babcock & Brown und der Bank of Scotland ("BoS") Corporate Europe aus dem Konzern der fünftgrößten britischen Bank HBOS. Sitz ist in Luxemburg und in London mit Geschäftsstellen in München und Italien.

CB Rail wurde 2004 gegründet und übernahm am 6. November 2004 die Porterbrook Leasing Company (Euro) Limited (PLCEL), d.h. die Aktivitäten von Porterbrook auf dem europäischen Kontinent mit einem Portfolio von 28 Diesel- und Elektro-Lokomotiven und 67 Passagierzügen. CB Rail ist Eigentümer u.a. der von Veolia Verkehr im HarzElbeExpress (HEX) eingesetzten Züge und der von Abellio Rail NRW ab Dezember 2007 auf der Ruhr-Sieg-Strecke einzusetzenden Züge.

Im Jahr 2010 hat sich CB Rail seine Gesellschaften in Luxemburg und Deutschland in Ascendos Rail Leasing umbenannt.
