Arthur L. Schawlow Award

Der Arthur L. Schawlow Award wird jährlich seit 1982[1] vom Laser Institute of America (LIA) verliehen. Er soll ein herausragendes Lebenswerk in der Grundlagen- oder angewandten Laserforschung und -entwicklung auszeichnen, das zum fundamentalen Verständnis der Wechselwirkung zwischen Licht und Materie beigetragen hat.

Der Preis besteht aus einem Preisgeld von 2000 US-Dollar, einer lebenslangen Mitgliedschaft beim Laser Institute of America und einer Silbermedaille. [2] Er wird während der Tagung International Congress on Applications of Lasers and Electro-Optics (ICALEO) verliehen.
