Die BITĖ Group wurde 2005 gegründet und ist eine der größten Telekommunikationsfirmen in den baltischen Staaten. Die Gruppe besteht aus den Firmen UAB BITĖ Lietuva, die im 1995 gegründet wurde und die BITE Latvija, die 2005 gegründet wurde. Seit dem 21. Juli 2003 ist die BITĖ Group Partner von Vodafone. Der Aktionär der BITĖ Group ist Mid Europa Partners. [1]

Geschichte

1995 wurde BITĖ GSM gegründet und war der zweite Mobilfunkanbieter nach Omnitel. 1997 hat BITĖ GSM als erste Telekommunikationsfirma in Osteuropa ein Prepaid-Angebot angeboten, welches Labas hieß. Am 9. Oktober 2003 war BITĖ GSM eine der wenigen Telekommunikationsfirmen in Europa, die EDGE anboten. 2004 hatte BITĖ Lietuva ihren 500.000 Kunden. Seit 2005 heißt die Firma BITĖ Lietuva, nachdem die BITĖ Group gegründet wurde. Zudem wurde auch noch BITE Latvija gegründet. Am 11. Februar 2008 bekam die BITĖ Group ein neues Logo.
