Earl of Ranfurly, of Dungannon in the County of Tyrone, ist ein britischer erblicher Adelstitel in der Peerage of Ireland, der von der Familie Knox getragen wird.

Stammsitz der Familie ist Maltings Chase bei Nayland, Suffolk.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde im Jahre 1831 erstmalig an Thomas Knox, 2. Viscount Northland verliehen, der zuvor viele Jahre das County Tyrone im irischen und später im britischen House of Commons vertreten hatte.

Nachgeordnete Titel

Der Vater des ersten Earl war 1781 zum Baron Welles, of Dungannon in the County of Tyrone, und zehn Jahre später zum Viscount Northland, of Dungannon in the County of Tyrone, erhoben worden. Beide Titel, die noch heute als nachgeordnete Titel geführt werden, gehören zur Peerage of Ireland.

Dem ersten Earl war bereits 1826 der Titel eines Baron Ranfurly, of Ramphorlie in the County of Renfrew verliehen worden. Dieser ebenfalls heute der Earlswürde nachgeordnete Titel gehört zur Peerage of the United Kingdom und führte dazu, dass der jeweilige Earl automatisch einen Sitz im House of Lords hatte.

Der jeweilige Titelerbe führt den Höflichkeitstitel Viscount Northland.
