Baron Stanley

Der Titel des Baron Stanley wurde in der Peerage of England erstmals 1456 an Sir Thomas Stanley verliehen. Sein Sohn wurde 1485 zum Earl of Derby erhoben, bis zum Tod des fünften Earl 1594 blieben beide Titel vereint. Seit dieser ohne männliche Erben starb, ruhte die Baronie. Erst im Jahr 1921 wurde der Titel wieder von Edith Abney-Hastings, 12. Countess of Loudoun, beansprucht, die Nachfolge war mit ihrem Tod 1960 aber wieder ruhend.
