Barry Hearn

Barry Hearn (* 1949 in Dagenham, Essex) ist ein englischer Sportpromoter und -funktionär.

Hearn ist seit 1995 Vorsitzender des Fußballvereins Leyton Orient. Er übernahm den Club, nachdem der vorherige Präsident Tony Wood den Club in schwere Finanznöte brachte. Seit 2006 spielt der Club in der Football League One, der dritthöchsten Spielklasse Englands. Seine Firma Matchroom Sport ist zudem Sponsor des Vereinsstadions.

Im Dezember 2009 löste er Sir Rodney Walker als Vorsitzenden der World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, dem Weltverband für Snooker und English Billiards, ab. Mit seiner Firma Matchroom Sport promotete Hearn schon zuvor zahlreiche Events in verschiedenen Sportarten. Zunächst konzentrierte er sich auf Snooker und Boxen; seit längerem gehören aber auch Poolbillard, Bowling, Golf, Angeln, Darts, Bowls und Poker dazu.
