Black Supremacy

Der englische Begriff Black Supremacy (dt. ‚schwarze Überlegenheit‘) fasst rassistische Ideologien zusammen, die eine angebliche Überlegenheit schwarzer Menschen gegenüber nicht-schwarzen Menschen propagieren.

USA

Ideologien schwarzer Überlegenheit sind vor allem in den USA seit den 1960er Jahren verbreitet. Religiös geprägte Gruppen wie die Nation of Islam forderten neben einem eigenen Staat eine Art umgekehrter Rassentrennung. Die Verbreitung dieses schwarzen Nationalismus zeigt, dass sich viele Schwarze nicht als Teil der US-amerikanischen Nation sahen. Obwohl sie in vielen Kriegen für die Vereinigten Staaten gekämpft hatten und offiziell vollwertige Bürger waren, konnten sie sich mit diesem Land nicht identifizieren.[1] Malcolm X und Muhammad Ali waren während ihrer Mitgliedschaft in der Nation of Islam Vertreter einer Black-Supremacy-Ideologie.[2][3]

Heute sind weiterhin Organisationen aktiv, die eine Ideologie schwarzer Überlegenheit propagieren, wie beispielsweise Nation of Islam, New Black Panther Party, Nation of Yahweh und weitere.
