Die Carbon Energy Limited hieß früher Metex Resources Limited und ist ein australisches Unternehmen, das sich auf die Entwicklung unterirdischer Kohlevergasungsanlagen spezialisiert hat, aber auch nach Mineralien sucht und ein Tochterunternehmen Energia Mineral eingegliedert hat, das für die Suche nach Uran aufgestellt ist.

Carbon Energy arbeitet am Aufbau einer unterirdischen Kohlevergasungsanlage am Bloodwood Creek in Queensland, Australien.[1]

2009 schloss Carbon Energy eine Vereinbarung mit der chilenischen Gesellschaft Antofagasta Minerals über eine unterirdische Kohlevergasungsanlage im Mulpun in Chile ab.[2]
