Carole Pateman

Carole Pateman (* 11. Dezember 1940 in Sussex) ist Politologin. Seit 1990 ist sie Professorin für Politikwissenschaft an der University of California, Los Angeles.

Sie führte zahlreiche Lehr- und Forschungsaufträge in Australien, Europa und Nordamerika aus. Sie war Präsidentin der Australasian Political Science Association und von 1991 bis 1994 Präsidentin der American Political Science Association. 1996 wurde sie Fellow der American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Ihr 1988 veröffentlichtes Werk The Sexual Contract (Der Geschlechtervertrag) beeinflusste nachhaltig die Feministische Theorie.
