Colson Whitehead (* 1969 in New York City) ist ein US-amerikanischer Romancier. 2002 erhielt er ein MacArthur Fellowship.

Whitehead wuchs in Manhattan auf, wo er die renommierte Trinity School besuchte. Anschließend studierte er in Harvard. Nach seinem Abschluss 1991 schrieb Whitehead zwei Jahre lang für The Village Voice.^[1] In dieser Zeit begann er seine ersten Romane zu entwerfen.
