Patrick van Kerckhoven

DJ Ruffneck ist das Pseudonym des niederländischen Diskjockeys und Musikproduzenten Patrick van Kerckhoven, der auch unter den Namen 80 Aum, Overmind, Undercover Anarchist, Wedlock, Juggernaut und D'Spyre bekannt ist. Geboren wurde er in der Stadt Dordrecht.

Karriere

Seit 1985 ist er vor allem im Gabberbereich als DJ aktiv. In diesem Genre gilt er als Gründer des Artcore.^[1] Große Bekanntheit erlangte van Kerckhoven 1997, als sein Remix Ruffneck rules da artcore scene!!! in den Niederländischen Top 40 den achten Platz erreichte.^[1]

In den letzten Jahren ist es eher still um van Kerckhoven gewurden. Seit dem "Tod" der Artcore-Szene, trat er selbst in den Hintergrund als Produzent. Allerdings ist er vielen Leuten noch „Hardcore-König“ bekannt und verantwortlich für das Plattenlabel Cardiac Music b.v. und dessen Sublabels.^[2]
Weiterhin ist er als Produzent tätig zum Beispiel für Künstler wie D-Block & S-Te-Fan^[3], Weapon-X oder Nosferatu.^[4]
