Disney Junior ist ein Pay-TV-Sender der The Walt Disney Company. In den USA hat der Sender den Betrieb im Februar 2011 aufgenommen. In Deutschland hat der Sender am 14. Juli den Sender Playhouse Disney ersetzt. Gestartet wurde mit der Premiere der neuen Staffel der Bastelshow Art Attack und der neuen Disney Junior Serie Jake und die Nimmerland Piraten. Von 6.00-13.30 Uhr lief der Sender noch unter dem Namen Playhouse Disney auf demselben Sendeplatz. [1]

Die Zielgruppe liegt bei Kleinkindern zwischen zwei und sieben Jahren. Der Fernsehsender betreibt eine Internetseite, auf der Lernspiele zu Figuren wie Winnie Puuh bzw. Micky Maus angeboten werden. [2]
