Ed Stafford (* 26. Dezember 1975, Peterborough) ist der erste Mensch, der den gesamten Amazonas von der Quelle bis zur Mündung zu Fuß gegangen ist.[1] Der Amazonas ist mit einer Länge von ca. 6500 km der zweitlängste Fluss der Erde. Die Strecke ist auf großen Teilen kaum erschlossen. Ed Stafford legte mit Umwegen rund 9500 km auf seiner Wanderung zurück.

Für die Expedition brauchte er 859 Tage. Er startete am 2. April 2008 und erreichte die Mündung am 9. August 2010.[2]
