HMS Centurion

Acht Schiffe der britischen Royal Navy trugen den Namen Centurion bzw. HMS Centurion, ein neuntes war geplant. Sie waren nach den römischen Zenturien benannt.

  • Die erste Schiff vierten Ranges mit 48 Kanonen wurde 1728 abgewrackt.
  • Die dritte 74-Kanonen-Schiff dritten Ranges. Es lief 1812 unter dem Namen Zielschiff umgebaut und 1944 vor Arromanches-les-Bains als Wellenbrecher versenkt.
  • Die neunte HMS Centurion war als Kreuzer mit 9.000 tn.l. Verdrängung geplant. Das 1945 bestellte Schiff wurde ein Jahr später storniert.
