High Water Recording Company

Die High Water Recording Company ist ein US-amerikanisches Plattenlabel, das im Jahr 1979 von Dr. David Evans und der Memphis State University gegründet wurde und bis heute betrieben wird.

Auf dem Label wurden zunächst Singles, seit 1983 auch Langspielplatten von Evans produzierter Aufnahmen in und um Memphis wirkender Blues-, Gospel- und Jazz-Künstler veröffentlicht. Die seinerzeit eingespielten Aufnahmen sind seit 1997 fast ausnahmslos auf dem Hightone-Label als CD wieder- bzw. neu veröffentlicht worden.[1] Das Hightone-Label wurde 2008 von der Firma Shout! Factory aufgekauft,[2], einige der CDs mit von Evans produzierten Aufnahmen sind dort nach wie vor im Programm.[3]
