Das Central Weather Bureau (CWB; chinesisch 中央氣象局) ist der staatliche Wetterdienst der Republik China. Es ist für die Sammlung meteorologischer, seismologischer und astronomischer Daten, das Erstellen von Wetterberichten und -vorhersagen und die Veröffentlichung von Warnungen bei Taifunen, Erdbeben und Tsunamis verantwortlich. Das CWB untersteht dem Verkehrsministerium (中華民國交通部). Sein Hauptsitz ist in Taipeh, daneben unterhält es ein Wetterzentrum für den Süden Taiwans und 25 bemannte Beobachtugsstationen.

Gegründet wurde das CWB 1945 unter direkter Kontrolle des Exekutiv-Yuans in Chongqing, 1949 wurde es mit der Regierung der Republik nach Taiwan verlegt.

Bei Meldungen über Erdbeben verwendet das CWB eine Variante der bis 1996 in Japan verwendeten siebenstufigen Intensitätsskala der JMA[1].
