Juan Carlos Amat

Juan Carlos Amat, auf Katalanisch Joan Carles i Amat, (* 1572 in Monistrol de Montserrat; † 10. Februar 1642 in Monistrol de Montserrat) war ein spanischer Arzt und Musiker.

Amat veröffentlichte 1586 eines der ersten Lehrwerke für die Gitarre. Das Buch wurde mehrfach in spanisch, katalanisch und valencianisch aufgelegt. Die letzte Ausgabe erschien 1758. Des Weiteren veröffentlichte er eine Schrift über die Pest sowie eine Sammlung von Aphorismen.[1]
