Kira Roessler

Kira Roessler (* 12. Juni 1962 in New Haven, Connecticut) ist eine US-amerikanische Punkrock-E-Bassistin und arbeitet als Toningenieurin und Dialogeditorin für Film- und Fernsehproduktionen am Dialogschnitt.

Leben

Roessler spielte ab 1977 in lokalen Musikgruppen wie Waxx, The Visitors, The Monsters, Sexsick und Twisted Roots in der Umgebung von Los Angeles.[1] 1983 ersetzte sie das Gründungsmitglied der Band Black Flag, Chuck Dukowski. 1985 trennte sie sich von Black Flag und gründete 1986 zusammen mit Mike Watt das mit zwei Bässen besetze Duo Dos, in dem sie auch singt.[2] Ihre 1987 mit Watt geschlossene Ehe wurde 1994 geschieden.

Film und Fernsehen

Für ihre Arbeit am Dialogton der HBO-Miniserie John Adams erhielt sie 2008 zusammen mit anderen den Emmy in der Kategorie Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special.[3]

Familie

Der Musiker, Komponist und Texter Paul Roessler, der durch seine Mitwirkung bei der Formation The Screamers und in Europa durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Nina Hagen eine gewisse Bekanntheit erlangte, ist ihr Bruder.
