Lisa Jane Smith (* 4. September 1965 in Villa Park, Orange County, Kalifornien) ist eine US-amerikanische Jugendbuchautorin.

Über das Leben der Autorin ist nur wenig bekannt. Ihr erstes Buch The Night of the Solstice (in Deutschland bislang nicht erschienen) schrieb sie während ihres Psychologiestudiums. Veröffentlicht wurde das Werk 1987. Im Anschluss an ihr Studium arbeitete sie zunächst einige Jahre als Lehrerin, bevor sie endgültig Autorin wurde.

Bekannt wurde Smith insbesondere durch ihre Reihe Tagebuch eines Vampirs, die seit 2009 auch für eine Fernsehserie unter dem Titel The Vampire Diaries verfilmt werden.

Lisa Jane Smith lebt im Norden Kaliforniens in den Vereinigten Staaten.
