Das Long Endurance Multi-Intelligence Vehicle (LEMV) ist ein unbemanntes Luftschiff der amerikanischen Firma Northrop Grumman.

Geschichte

Das Luftschiff soll im Auftrag Northrop Grumman von einer britischen Firma in einem Zeitraum von nur 18 Monaten entwickelt und gebaut werden und im mittleren Osten als Aufklärungsplattform zum Einsatz kommen. Dafür werden unter anderem optische-, Infrarot- und Radarsensoren integriert. Die United States Army hat am 14. Juni 2010 offiziell drei Stück für einen Preis von 500 Millionen US-Dollar bestellt.[1]

Technische Daten

Das LEMV ist ein Hybridluftschiff und wird von Dieselmotoren von Thielert angetrieben. Es kann eine Nutzlast von bis zu 1135 kg tragen und soll mindestens 21 Tage in Höhen über 6100 m bleiben können. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit liegt bei etwa 150 km/h.[2]
