Ludźmierz (deutsch: Ludemannsdorf[1]) ist ein polnisches Dorf in der Gemeinde Nowy Targ im Landkreis Nowotarski in der Wojewodschaft Kleinpolen. Ludźmierz liegt nördlich der Hohen Tatra, rund 65 Kilometer südlich von Krakau, 2 km östlich von Nowy Targ, und zählt etwa 2400 Einwohner.[2]

Die Geschichte des Ortes ist mit Zisterziensern verbunden, die im 13. Jahrhundert in die Region gekommen sind.[3] Die Zisterzienser wurden aus Jędrzejów zur Kolonisation des Podhale-Gebiets gezogen. 1234 gründet der Wojewode von Kraków, Teodor Gryfita das Dorf, baut die Kirche und das Kloster für die Zisterzienser. In diesem Zeitraum kam es auch zur Zuwanderung deutscher Kolonisten (Walddeutsche)[4]. Der Pfarrbezirk Ludźmierz ist bis 1824 unter der Herrschaft der Zisterzienser.

Nach Ludźmierz pilgerte der Papst Johannes Paul II. zum Sanktuarium, zur Muttergottes Königin von Podhale, auch „Bäuerin von Podhale” genannt. In der neugotischen Kirche aus 1877 verweilte er vor der Statue der Muttergottes von Ludźmierz, gehauen im Holz im 15. Jahrhundert.

In Ludźmierz wurde Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer, ein polnischer Poet, Schriftsteller und Dramatiker geboren.[5]
