Makatao

Makatao, auch teilweise gelistet als Makattao, Takaraya oder Tta'o, war ein Minderheitendialekt und wurde von vereinzelten kleineren Gruppen gesprochen, wie zum Beispiel einem "Substamm" der Siraya dem Stamm der Makattao.


Dieses Volk der Siraya lebte im Südwesten von Taiwan. Der Dialekt Makatao ist ausgestorben, so wie auch die Siraya. Der bekannte taiwanesische Sprachkundler Shigeru Tsuchida schrieb eine Arbeit über die Ähnlichkeiten der Sprache der Siraya und des Dialekts zum heutigen Taiwanesisch.[1]
