Ursprünglich wurde Memo von Volvo für die Unternehmenskommunikation entwickelt. Die Software wurde vorwiegend im professionellen Bereich eingesetzt, laut Nexus arbeiten 25 Millionen Anwender damit.
Die aktuelle Weiterentwicklung heißt Neon.
