Chersonesos (auch Chersones, griech., Χερσόνησος, bzw. lat. chersonesus) bedeutet Halbinsel und wird häufig als Kurzbezeichnung für:

  • die türkische Halbinsel Gallipoli (thrakischer Chersones),
  • die türkische Datça-Halbinsel (dorische Halbinsel oder Knidos-Halbinsel) (Chersonisos Cnidia),
  • die türkische Daraçya Yarımandası (karischer Chersones oder Loryma-Halbinsel) gegenüber von Rhodos
  • die dorischen Kolonien bzw. die antike Stadt Chersones (Stadt) auf der Halbinsel Krim (kleiner Chersones) und
  • die Landmasse zwischen dem Asowschen und dem Schwarzen Meer inklusive der Krim (großer bzw. skythischer oder der taurische Chersonesos)

verwendet.
