Die Gruppe Puerto Rico All Stars, abgekürzt PRAS, ist eine Salsa und Latin Jazz Gruppe aus Puerto Rico.

Werdegang

Die Band wurde 1977 von Franklin Gregory in Puerto Rico gegründet. 1963 entstand eine Band mit ähnlichem Namen Puerto Rican All-Stars, die von einem Perkussionisten namens Kako begleitet wurde. Sie setzte sich unter anderem aus einer großen Zahl von namhaften Künstlern wie Andy Montañez, Paquito Guzmán, Lalo Rodríguez und Gilberto Santa Rosa zusammen, die später eine Solokarriere wie begannen. PRAS war eine Alternative und stand im Wettbewerb[1] zu der in New York City ansässigen Band Fania All-Stars unter Johnny Pacheco. PRAS produzierte drei Alben, welche in der Zeit von 1977 bis 1979 erschienen. 1996 kam ihr letztes Album De Regreso auf den Markt.
