Taupo Maritime Radio ist eine neuseeländische Küstenfunkstelle. Taupo Maritime Radio sendet aus der Region Taupo von der Nordinsel und übernimmt im Auftrag der staatlichen Behörde Maritime New Zealand den Kurz-, Grenz- und Mittelwellenfunk in Neuseeland.[1]

Maritime New Zealand ist zuständig im Worldwide Navigational Warnings Service (WWNWS) für die NAVAREA XIV, die folgende Koordinaten umfasst:

  • 45°S, 160°E
  • 29°S, 170°E
  • Äquator, 170°E
  • Äquator, 120°W
  • Südpol.

Taupo Maritime Radio sendet für die NAVAREA XIV zur Zeit keine NAVTEX-Warnmeldungen. Der Sprach-Dienst und gesprochene Wettermeldungen werden zu festen Zeiten abgewickelt. Hörbereitschaft für den SAR-Dienst besteht ständig. Die Region NAVAREA XIV wird vom New Zealand Distress and Safety Radio Service abgedeckt. Sie deckt 12,5 Prozent der Weltmeere ab.

Die HF-Frequenzen werden auch vom Rescue Coordination Centre of New Zealand (RCCNZ) genutzt.
