USP Terre Haute
Die USP gehören zu den Gefängnissen, die der exekutiven Gewalt auf Bundesebene unterliegen.
Im USP Terre Haute wurde der erste richtige Block für die zum Tode verurteilten Strafgefangenen in den USA errichtet.
Am 11. Juni 2001 wurde im USP Terre Haute an Timothy McVeigh für die Beteiligung am Bombenanschlag auf das Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City die Todesstrafe vollstreckt.
