Der Walking Man ist eine von Jonathan Borofsky entworfene riesige Figur im Münchner Stadtteil Schwabing.

Skulptur

Die 17 Meter hohe und 16 Tonnen schwere, weiße Skulptur steht seit 1995 vor dem Eingang von Munich Re (die das Kunstwerk auch finanzierte) an der Leopoldstraße in München. Die große monochrome Figur ist in der Bewegung des Gehens begriffen. Aus dieser Bewegung ergibt sich auch der Name der Figur: Walking Man = gehender Mensch. Der Walking Man besteht aus einer in den USA gefertigten Stahlkonstruktion, die in München zusammengebaut wurde. Die Kunststoffummantelung ist aus glasfaserverstärktem Kunststoff.
