Wolf Records ist eine Plattenfirma mit Sitz in Wien, die sich die Aufgabe gestellt hat, Bluesplatten der 30er- und 40er-Jahre wieder zu veröffentlichen und zeitgenössischen Chicago Blues zu verbreiten.

Geschichte

Die Geschichte von Wolf Records begann 1974 mit der Gründung des Vienna Blues Fan Club durch 20 Wiener Bluesenthusiasten. Der Club veranstaltete bis 1981 Konzerte (z.B. J. B. Hutto, Honeyboy Edwards, Eddie Taylor, Louis Myers, Homesick James, Snooky Pryor, Brewer Phillips, Ted Harvey, Detroit Junior, Houston Stackhouse und Henry Townsend). Aus diesen Auftritten wurden zwei Schallplatten veröffentlicht, ein Sampler Chicago Blues Live und Sad and Lonesome mit Homesick James and Snooky Pryor. 1982 entschlossen sich vier Mitglieder des Clubs, eine Plattenfirma zu gründen: Wolf Records. 1996 wurde Wolf Records USA gegründet.
