Woodpeckers From Space ist ein Lied von Video Kids aus dem Jahr 1984, welches von den Produzenten Adams/Fleisner geschrieben und produziert wurde.

Geschichte

Woodpeckers From Space wurde weltweit am 5. Oktober 1984 veröffentlicht. Von da aus wurde es ein Nummer-Eins-Hit in Norwegen und Südafrika. Aufgrund der damaligen politischen Lage wurde der Hit in Südafrika im Juli 1985 veröffentlicht. Das Lied enthält Samples aus dem Woody Woodpecker-Intro von Kay Kyser aus dem Jahr 1948.

Das Lied ist 3:34 Minuten lang und erschien auf dem Album The Invasion of the Spacepeckers. Auf der B-Seite der Single befindet sich das komponierte Stück Rap And Sing Along.

Im Musikvideo sind Peter Slaghuis und einige andere Mitglieder der Band zu sehen; nebenbei enthält der Clip einige Szenen des Cartoons Woody Woodpecker.
