Ein Colur oder Kolur ist eine veraltete Bezeichnung für einen Großkreis auf der Himmelskugel, der durch die beiden Pole läuft (also parallel zu den Längengraden der Erde). [1]

Es gibt zwei wesentliche Colure: [2]

  • Der Äquinoktialkolur läuft von den Polen aus durch Frühlingspunkt und Herbstpunkt, die Schnittpunkte des Himmelsäquators mit der Ekliptik.
  • Der Solstitialkolur läuft im rechten Winkel dazu von den Polen durch die Punkte der Sonnenwende (Solstitien).
