Congress of the People (Trinidad und Tobago)


Congress of the People (COP) ist eine sozialliberale Partei in Trinidad und Tobago.

Nach Streitigkeiten im United National Congress zwischen Basdeo Panday und Winston Dookeran gründete Dookeran am 10. September 2006 den Congress of the People.[1] Bei den Wahlen zum Repräsentantenhaus (Trinidad und Tobago) im Mai 2010 bildete der COP zusammen mit vier anderen Parteien das Wahlbündnis People's Partnership. Die Partei stellt aktuell sechs Abgeordnete im Repräsentantenhaus und mit Dookeran den Finanzminister.
