David H. Levy (* 22. Mai 1948 in Montreal, Québec, Kanada) ist ein US-amerikanischer Astronom und Wissenschaftsjournalist.

Er wurde bekannt durch seine Mitentdeckung des Kometen Shoemaker-Levy 9, der 1994 mit dem Planeten Jupiter kollidierte.

Levy hat 22 Kometen entdeckt, entweder alleine oder mit Eugene Shoemaker und dessen Frau Carolyn, und hat über 30 Bücher – meistens über astronomische Themen – geschrieben.

Der 1985 entdeckte Asteroid (3673) Levy wurde nach ihm benannt.
