David Selbourne

David Selbourne (* 1937) ist ein britischer Historiker und Schriftsteller, der in Italien lebt. Mit dem Buch The Losing Battle with Islam erregte er Aufsehen. Ferner publizierte er ein angebliches Reisetagebuch eines jüdischen Kaufmanns auf der Seidenstrasse aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, Jacob of Ancona: The City of Light. The hidden Journal of the Man who entered China four years before Marco Polo. Seine abstruse Behauptung über die Herkunft der Quelle wird durchgehend für einen Marketingtrick und eine Veralberung des Publikums gehalten. Bei einer der Zeitungen, für die er bisweilen zur aktuellen Innenpolitik des Landes schreibt, dem britischen "Daily Telegraph", gibt es allerdings einen Top-Kommentator namens "Matthew d'Ancona".
