Die Electrical Engineering Students' European Association (kurz: EESTEC) ist ein Verbund von Studierenden der Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik in Europa. EESTEC ist an zur Zeit 33 Universitäten in 21 Ländern Europas mit Ortsverbänden, den sog. Local Committees (LCs), vertreten. In Deutschland gibt es LCs in Aachen, Hamburg und München, in Österreich in Wien, in der Schweiz in Zürich.
Die Organisation EESTEC wurde am 28. April 1986 auf der Electrical Engineering Students European Conference in Eindhoven (NL) gegründet. Zwischenzeitlich in Zürich angesiedelt, ist der Sitz des Vereins seit 2002 Delft in den Niederlanden.
Ziel und Aktivitäten
Ziele des Verbundes sind der Aufbau und die Intensivierung von internationalen Kontakten sowie der Austausch von Ideen zwischen Studierenden aus verschiedenen Ländern Europas.
Hierzu organisiert EESTEC Austausche (zwei oder mehr LCs besuchen sich für ein bis zwei Wochen) und Workshops (Mitglieder aus verschiedenen LCs arbeiten gemeinsam an einem Thema aus dem Bereich der Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik).
Einmal jährlich findet ein Kongress statt, die Generalversammlung des Vereins. 2006 fand der Kongress in Sofia, 2005 in Madrid statt. Der letzte in Deutschland abgehaltene Kongress war 1996 in Aachen.
