Eriu

Ériu (andere Schreibweisen sind Eri und Éire) ist eine Figur der irischen Sage. Sie wird im Lebor Gabala Eirenn als Tochter der Ernmas und des Fiachna bezeichnet und gilt als Angehörige der Tuatha de Danaan.

Ériu gilt gemeinsam mit ihren Schwestern Banba und Fohla als Genius des Landes Irland und ist mit dem Brüderpaar Sethor, Cethor und Tethor verbunden das die Herrschaft über das Land symbolisiert. Mit dem Formoren Elatha ist sie die Mutter des Bress.
