Leben

Oakeshott war Mitglied der Society of Antiquaries of London und wurde bekannt für seine Bücher über mittelalterliche Waffen und Rüstungen, insbesondere für seine Klassifikation des mittelalterlichen Schwertes, die Oakeshott-Klassifikation.

Oakeshott gründete die Arms and Armour Society und das Oakeshott Institute.
