The Gap Band 1983

Die GAP Band ist eine US-amerikanische Funk&Soul-Band. Sie wurde von den drei Brüdern Ronnie, Robert († 15. Aug 2010[1]) und Charlie Wilson gegründet. Die Abkürzung GAP setzt sich aus den drei Straßennamen ihrer Heimatstadt Tulsa zusammen: Greenwood, Archer und Pine. Seit Mitte der 70er Jahre ist die Gruppe aktiv. Ihren ersten Erfolg landeten sie 1979 mit „Shake" gefolgt von „Oops, Upside Your Head". Ihre Alben erreichten zweimal Gold und dreimal Platin.
