Galactane sind eine Gruppe verzweigter, wasserlöslicher Polysaccharide, die zu den Hemicellulosen gehören. Sie kommen als Strukturkomponenten in den Zellwänden bestimmter Rotalgen-Gattungen, nicht aber in der Zellwand von Eubakterien vor.
