Die Hollywood Foreign Press Association (deutsch Auslandspresseverband Hollywood, kurz HFPA) ist eine US-amerikanische Organisation vom Filmjournalisten. Mitglieder sind Journalisten verschiedener Nationalität, die hauptsächlich in Hollywood arbeiten, ihre Arbeiten aber in der nicht-amerikanischen Presse veröffentlichen.

Die Hollywood Foreign Press Association wurde im Jahr 1943 von einem Korrespondenten der Daily Mail, einer britischen Zeitung, gegründet. Am bekanntesten ist die Organisation durch die seit 1944 alljährlich stattfindende Verleihung der Golden Globe Awards. Nach Angabe der New York Times verdiente die als Non-Profit-Organisation registrierte HFPA an der Golden-Globe-Verleihung 2003 5,7 Mio. US-$.[1]

Derzeit[2] besteht die HFPA aus 84 aktiven Mitgliedern sowie 8 Ehrenmitgliedern „auf Lebenszeit“. Unter den aktiven Mitgliedern befinden sich unter anderem die deutschsprachigen Korrespondenten Elmar Biebl, Scott Orlin und Frances Schönberger. [3] Die Aufnahmekriterien in die HFPA gelten – ebenso wie die Wahlkriterien der Golden Globes – als intransparent. Die Aufnahme von Mitgliedern erfolgt nur auf Vorschlag eines der bisherigen Mitglieder. Aufnahmeanträge von Korrespondenten namhafter Blätter wie The Times oder Le Monde wurden mitunter abgelehnt, während Freelancer aus Bangladesh oder Südkorea aufgenommen wurden.[4]
