Aluminium Chlorohydrate

Aluminiumchlorhydrate Al2(OH)5Cl sind eine Stoffgruppe, die in Kosmetik und Körperpflegeprodukten, sowie in der Abwasserbehandlung verwendet werden. Es handelt sich um eine Gruppe von Salzen mit der Formel AlnCl(3n−m)(OH)m.

Gefahren

Aluminiumchlorhydrate hemmen die Schweißabsonderung und können dadurch zu Entzündungen (toxische Hautreizung, Entzündungen der Drüsen, Granulome) führen. Auf die Haut aufgebracht, verengt Aluminium durch Denaturierung von Proteinen auf der Haut die Poren und vermindert so die Schweißbildung. Aluminiumchlorhydrate in Deodorants stehen im Verdacht, Brustkrebs auszulösen, obwohl die Aufnahme in die Zellen ungeklärt ist.[1] Eine Arbeit aus dem Jahr 2008, bei der die bisherigen Untersuchungen zu diesem Thema zusammengefasst wurden, kommt zu dem Schluss, dass es keine wissenschaftlichen Nachweise für diese Theorie gibt.[2]

Aluminiumchlorhydrate sind mineralischer Herkunft.

Verwendung

Die Stoffe werden insbesondere in Deodorants zur Schweißreduktion verwendet.
