Dorothy Mae Kilgallen (* 3. Juli 1913 in Chicago; † 8. November 1965 in New York City) war eine US-amerikanische Fernsehmoderatorin und Schauspielerin.

Ihre Reportagen trugen zur Entlastung von Sam Sheppard bei, sie kritisierte die Warren Commission, und sie kündigte Informationen zum Attentat auf John F. Kennedy an, verstarb 1965 jedoch unter ungeklärten Umständen. Ihr Notizbuch blieb unauffindbar.

Diverse Quellen bringen Kilgallens Tod mit dem großen Stromausfall in New York (1965, "The Big Blackout"), welcher einen Tag später, am 9.November 1965 stattfand, in Verbindung.

Sie war eine bekannte Journalistin. Ihre Bericht über die Krönung von Elisabeth II. wurde 1953 für den Pulitzer Preis nominiert. Sie war bekannt dafür, dass sie ihre Quellen nicht preis gab. Das führte zu mehreren Untersuchungen und verstärkte die Zweifel an ihrem Tod.

Sie war auch als Moderator der Sendung What's My Line? (deutsch:Was bin ich?) bekannt. Für ihre Arbeit beim Fernsehen bekam sie einen Sterm auf dem Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Die kritischen Momente ihrer Geschichte wurden zum Teil in der amerikanischen Fernsehserie Dark Skies verfilmt (Episode: "To Prey in Darkness").
