Larry Scott

Larry Scott (* 12. Oktober 1938 in Blackfoot, Idaho) ist ein US-amerikanischer Bodybuilder. Er gilt als einer der Pioniere in diesem Sportbereich.

Scott lebt heute in Salt Lake City und ist mit Rachel Ichikawa verheiratet. Das Paar hat fünf Kinder.

Karriere

Larry Scott zählt weltweit zu den wohl bedeutendsten Bodybuildern. Unter Bodybuilder wurde er für seine damals äußerst massigen Bizeps bekannt, für die er speziell ein Trainingsprogramm entwickelt hatte. Diese Kraftübung wurde später nach ihm als Scottcurls benannt.

Er gewann mehrere Wettkämpfe. So 1962 unter anderem den Titel Mr. America. Zwei Jahre später, im Jahr 1964, sicherte sich Scott den Titel Mr. Universe. 1965 wurde er der erste Mr. Olympia. Dieser Wettbewerb wurde von der IFFB veranstaltet und Scott konnte diesen Titel 1966 in New York City erneut gewinnen.
